The Odd Couple was founded by two global bartending titans: Shingo Gokan, whose Shanghai bar Speak Low was named No.2 in Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2021, and Steve Schneider, whose New York flagship Employees Only ranked No.38 in The World’s 50 Best Bars 2020. What’s clear though, is just how much fun the two are having here. The neon-lit bar has a bit of a Blade Runner vibe, and there’s a whole heap of silliness running through proceedings (retro board games, projections of Pac Man), underpinned by some predictably exceptional drinks. The menu is split into two, with one overseen by Gokan and the other by Schneider, so you can get a true taste of their signature styles, without compromise.
