The atmosphere in this stone-and-wood clad sanctuary is so serene there is something almost sacred about it. Tony Lu celebrates the plant kingdom through artfully presented tasting menus that showcase considerable technique. Porcini mushrooms are served in a glass jar filled with the smoke from a small grape vine, while the ‘flower pot’ dessert features layers of roselle and apple ice cream topped with cocoa powder and a dehydrated enoki mushroom flower. Sophisticated Chinese tea pairings (rather than alcohol) complete the sense of inner zen.
