Shanghai reported 727 confirmed locally transmitted COVID-19 cases and 6,606 local asymptomatic infections on Sunday, the city health commission announced.
The city registered 32 COVID-19-related deaths on Sunday, with an average age of 84 years.
All had serious underlying health issues, including coronary heart disease, diabetes, Alzheimer’s and cancer, it said.
The city is making solid efforts in sanitization, dispatching 160,000 people each day to disinfect 13,000 communities.
