Shanghai-based eSports team Royal Never Give Up (RNG) won its first match at the ongoing Mid-Season Invitational (MSI), a League of Legends world tournament.
Eleven teams from Asia, Europe, Oceania, North America and South America are participating in the MSI event from Tuesday to May 29 in Busan, South Korea. RNG is representing China, which is competing remotely due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Among the opening day matches on Tuesday, RNG defeated the Istanbul Wild Cats 1-0. Founded in 2015, RNG won the MSI championship in 2018 and 2021.
