About community：The Royal Asiatic Society China in Shanghai is a scholarly society devoted to furthering the understanding and appreciation of China and Asia-centric themes amongst the international community residing here. Through its diverse lecture series, monthly art and history focus groups as well as fiction and non-fiction book clubs it aims to inspire and enrich cultural life in Shanghai. The RAS library offers a stunning collection of over 4000 books (in English) as well as rare archival material housed at the historic House of Roosevelt on the Bund. It also publishes an annual journal comprising of original academic articles and book reviews.
